Karakteristik Gereja yang Sehat Berdasarkan Kitab Kisah Para Rasul: Kajian Eklesiologis dan Implementasinya bagi Gereja Kontemporer

The church of the twenty-first century faces serious challenges in maintaining its spiritual health amid the currents of consumerism, digitalization, and the fragmentation of congregational life. This study departs from the conviction that the book of Acts provides a normative pattern for a healthy church, one that is not measured merely by numerical growth but by the depth of its spiritual life and its faithfulness to the mission of Christ. The purpose of this research is to identify the characteristics of a healthy church based on the narrative of the early church in Acts and to formulate their relevance for the contemporary church. The method employed is a qualitative descriptive study using a biblical-theological hermeneutic approach, examining the text of Acts, particularly Acts 2:41-47 and Acts 4:32-37, in dialogue with classical and contemporary ecclesiological literature. The findings show that a healthy church is characterized by five interconnected marks: steadfastness in apostolic teaching (didache), authentic fellowship (koinonia), a Christ-centred worship life (leitourgia and proseuche), compassionate service (diakonia), and courageous witness (marturia), all of which are sustained by the dynamic presence of the Holy Spirit. The discussion further shows that these marks form an organic unity that cannot be reduced to institutional programs alone. This study concludes that the health of the church is not an option but a theological necessity, and that its implementation today calls for the integration of sound doctrine, genuine community, and social compassion, particularly in facing the temptations of digital-age spirituality that tend to reduce the church into a mere platform of religious content.
